5 tips to increase your water intake

Feeling tired all the time?

You may be dehydrated. Dehydration can look like headaches, dizziness and dry skin, but what about FATIGUE? If you suffer from headaches, achy joints, or fatigue, the simplest remedy is to drink more water.

Hydration is critical to cleanse our body of toxins, maintain high energy, ensure a strong immune system and keep our skin looking vibrant.

We know, friends. We know you’re busy, and before you know it, the day has gone by and you’re way under where should be for your daily water intake (#momlife). That’s why we’ve put together this list that will get you on your way to hydrating your body and feeling great!

Wouldn’t you like to have more energy? Let’s do this!

1) Make it the first part of your day

Commit to 8 oz first thing in the morning. Make it 16 if you’re an overachiever. 🙂 Fill up your water bottle at night and put it on your nightstand so that it’s the first thing you see when you wake up. When you’re first moving around, be drinking. Before coffee. Before breakfast. Hydrate yourself!

2) Get a fun water bottle

You know how a new outfit makes you feel more energetic and confident? Well, the more you like your water bottle, the more likely you are to want to use it. Here are some that we like:

ELLO WATER BOTTLE

LIFEFACTORY WATER BOTTLE

HEALTHY HUMAN WATER BOTTLE

SIMPLE  MODERN WATER BOTTLE

SUCFORST

3) Sweeten water naturally with fruit

Water with strawberries + mint together is super yum! Cucumber + mint! Raspberries + lime! The possibilities are endless.

Even better? Try adding some Lemon Vitality, Orange Vitality or Citrus Fresh Vitality essential oil to your water. Not only does it add flavor, but you’re getting the health benefits, as well (detox, extra antioxidants, water purification, improved heart health (atherosclerosis to be exact!), constipation, skin health + more! Psssst —> The Wellness Lounge carries all 3 of these oils! Stop by and see us!

4) Set a reminder

It’s easy to forget to hydrate until you feel thirsty, but by that time you’re already dehydrated. Set a reminder on your phone a few times throughout the day to help you remember to refill your glass and hydrate. Or if you’re a pen + paper kind of girl, grab some post-its and get sticking ’em up!

5) End your day with herbal tea

Although water by itself acts as a natural detoxer, hydrating in the form of herbal tea has additional health benefits. Simply squeezing lemon into warm water can help to boost the immune system, aid in weight loss and digestion, and even purge toxins to clear skin.

Herbal teas are a great way to experience different flavors while hydrating, in addition to acquiring natural health benefits. We like the detox tea by Oola and this energy tea is a great one too!

How do YOU stay hydrated?! We would love to hear your tips!

Until next time, friends!

  • Hi There,
Just thought I would share what helps me to drink and keep track of water I have/need to drink. I have a stainless steel water bottle that holds 16 oz of water. I put 4 rubber bands near the top and every time I drink the water down I move a rubber band down. That way I know if all 4 rubber bands are moved to the bottom I have had my 8 glasses of water that day…voila!

    Blessings,
    Francie
